These beautiful gold coins are a tribute to the Year of the Snake, which is the sixth animal in the Chinese lunar calendar. According to tradition, each animal in the zodiac gives certain traits to those born in its year. So if you were born in 2025, 2013, 2001, 1989, 1977, or any 12th year before that, you’re under the Snake sign, and people often describe Snakes as ambitious, smart, independent, and charming.
There’s no cap on how many 10 oz, 2 oz, 1/2 oz, 1/4 oz, 1/10 oz, and 1/20 oz coins will be made. However, production of these coins will end in 2025, when The Perth Mint will announce the final number of each type. For the 1 oz coins, they plan to make no more than 30,000. Production will stop when they’re all sold out or when the series ends, whichever happens first. Because there are fewer of these 1 oz coins, they’re likely to be in high demand and sell out quickly.
