The Next Generation Series
Each release in the Next Generation coin series features a mother and baby from an Australian Outback species. These coins are equipped with micro-engraved radial lines for enhanced security, visible with a magnifying glass. All coins in this series are piedfort, meaning they have the same diameter as Perth's standard round Silver coins of the same weight but are twice as thick. Previous releases have featured Australian animals such as the kookaburra, koala, crocodile, platypus, and dingo. The 2023 release, which features a mother kangaroo and her joey, is the 6th in the series from Perth.
